The purpose of this site is primarily to facilitate communication and dissemination of information amongst our members. This function is by means of a members only area. The site also features information on the background to IALPA, as well as news of the association’s current activities which is accessible to the public.

Members of IALPA are professional pilots working not just in Ireland, but throughout Europe and the World, reflecting Ireland’s strong international aviation links.

Local Group Councils represent the pilots of the various airlines in Ireland and report to the National Executive. Access to the local group areas of the website requires membership and a password.

IALPA represents its members in the many broad and diverse facets of international aviation including industrial issues, professional standards, pilot welfare, to mention but a few areas. Our Safety & Technical Committee monitors and acts on technical matters both at local and international level which could affect pilots in the safe execution of their professional duties. The members of this Committee act on behalf of IALPA Members individually or collectively, in areas such as, but not limited to:

  • Accidents or Incidents
  • Licensing and Medical
  • Aircraft Design & Operation
  • Airport Environment
  • Air Traffic Service
  • Dangerous Goods
  • Human Factors
  • Security

IALPA is a branch of the Trade Union IMPACT and affiliated to IFALPA, the International Federation of Airline Pilots Associations.
