IALPA PRESS RELEASE - 6th October 2008- Aer Lingus management meeting the Trade Unions today at 3.00pm.
- The Irish Air Line Pilots’ Association (IALPA), representing all of the professional pilots employed by Aer Lingus, today received an outline of the cost cutting plan approved by the Board of Aer Lingus.
- Over the coming days the Executive Council of IALPA will consider the plan as it affects our Aer Lingus members.
- IALPA will not be commenting further on the negotiations which will clearly take place on foot of these proposals.
- It is IALPA’s belief that Aer Lingus should remain an independent, viable airline providing direct connectivity from Ireland to major hubs worldwide.
- Since 1946 IALPA has represented professional pilots in Ireland. We currently have a membership of approx 1200 who are largely employed by Irish registered operators.
